We were inspired by value and used a variety of blended watercolors to create depth in our artwork. Students learned about the basic principles of a "scape" or view and created their own version. The three "scapes" we studied were Landscape, Seascape, and Cityscape. Each of our "scapes" had three parts; Foreground (closest to the viewer), Middleground (midpoint between ground and sky), and Background (furthest from the viewer touches the skyline). Students took drew objects in the three areas of their Seascape to create visual depth.
